Psilocybe azuresence 'Elixer'

FSRE now offers little baggies of Azure spawn, and I obtained one!



So, here go's a growlog to follow the development of this little bit of spawn. My goal is to keep it as simple as possible!

I went to the petstore to get a big bag of beech chips. Filled up a bucket with chips and water to soak them overnight.



After 12 hours of soaking I poured of the water and filled a Ziplock-bag with beech chips and added the spawn.



Everything is unsterile and no extra precautions are made. The Ziplock-bag is closed with some extra air and stored in a box at room temperature.

I'll keep you all uptodate!

Indeed exciting! Azure is a fascinating strain. Azures are not native here but theoretically it should work to establish azure patches in my neck of the woods. The climate is still favorable this far up north.

It's the first time I'm trying this strain, I'm exited! I'll make a patch in the garden and on the balcony, if everything is going according to plan!

Well folks, I have no luck with the Azure spawn baggie,... Somehow the Azure doesn't manage to grow on the new and fresh wood chips, it sits totally still? Maybe the spawn isn't that vital any more?

But, no worries I have a backup. I've got some Azure LC going in sterile rye jars!!



Hoping I still can catch up with the Azure season this year??

Bummer that it didn't grow out FF. I wonder why? How did you make your LC, was it from a print? Your Rye jars are looking good!

I'ts not a good idea to have the Psi. azurescens mycelia in a closed bag several days/weeks - it needs air.
If Fsre wants (us) to send out Azurescens spawn i think it must be done in some other way.

Maybe toiletpaperrolls are a good idea :D Wooks brilliant for me if i want to give some spawn to a new grower.

Thank you for sharing LarZfraMarZ! It can be the closed ziplock baggie, I'll check at other members who relieved a baggie if thy have the same problem. The toiletpaperrolls tek sounds good, maybe I'm going to give it a try!

@Eikon, The LC is made from a Agar dish I received from an other member a year ago!
